Afternoon Activities
Afternoons are a time to break from the intensity of the morning's activities and kick back, have fun and develop friendships.
Recreational Sports
Try out a new sport or join in on any of these recreational sports activities including swimming, basketball, volleyball, football, ultimate Frisbee, and Frisbee golf. All activities are offered on a rotating basis.
Sports Instruction
Campers interested in focusing their efforts on golf, tennis, soccer, fitness or SCUBA may participate in our 1/2 day sports camps. These programs are more intensive than the Recreational Sports Program and require a supplemental fee:

Golf Camp
Conducted at UVA's own Birdwood Golf Club, campers of all experience levels enjoy small group instruction and "play the course" opportunities. Two hours of group instruction three days a week by Birdwood's own PGA pros and 4 Star's golf staff covers all phases of stroke development from the long game to the short game and putting. The other two days campers play the beautiful Birdwood course (9 or 18 holes depending on experience).

Tennis Camp
A carefully designed and integrated approach to the total tennis game since 1975. On alternate days you will profit from and enjoy small group instruction, private lessons, singles and doubles match play, team tennis, and a tennis specific conditioning program. Campers of all ability levels receive 2-2 1/2 hours of instruction daily. All campers are grouped by ability level.

Soccer Camp
The Soccer Program is an exciting new program designed just for 4 Star Camps. You'll be practicing the fundamental skills while also being able to put those skills into practice in game-like competition. Improve your game and put your abilities to the test against players from around the world.

SCUBA Camp
Have you ever wanted to be SCUBA certified? 4 Star has teamed with Dive Connections of Charlottesville to offer this one-of-a-kind program. Our SCUBA certification combines classroom instruction and pool work during the week with open dives at Lake Rawlings on the weekend. Those who choose this program will be required to complete reading and video assignments prior to arrival.

Personal Fitness
Our fitness program has been specifically designed for students looking to get fit. This program is geared toward introducing activities like yoga or pilates, fitness walking, circuit training, and plyometrics to improve flexibility, balance, strength, and cardiovascular health.

Studio Art
Designed for students of any art background, this class will help discover and develop your innate artistic talents. Learn various techniques while developing your own individual portfolios. You'll also visit the UVA Art Museum if there is interest.

Photography
Bring your digital camera and you will have fun learning the basics of how to compose pictures, freeze action, and use light effectively to create great photographs. Start your very own portfolio.

Acting
A 4 Star Camps favorite! Open to both students with experience in acting and to those who just want to see what acting is about. We will explore basic acting skills as well as proven exercises to develop your own acting skills, leading up to a final curtain call at the end of the session.

Cinematogrpahy
Learn the art of film making. A short introduction of film making history in America will be covered. You will then gain experience working with light, perspective and cameras. Also develop scriptwriting techniques.
